DVR Reviews

DVR Reviews - an in depth look.

Several decades ago—people are already contended squinting their eyes over watching through a small boob tube. A family with a black and white television in their living room is already considered an elite of the society—most especially those with colored TV sets.

The advent of technology has reached a certain point which changed the way people watch television. Before, people would really tune in to their favorite stations at a certain time of the day, in order for them not to miss an episode of their favorite nightly dramas… but that is not the case today. Digital video recorders have created a stress-free way of watching your much anticipated dramas, you can even watch them a lot of times, if you will.

There are different brands of DVRs available in the market today and to tell you frankly—most, if not all of them work the same. However, there are always hairline differences which defines one from the other. Following are three of the most popular DVRs in the market today and information about their pros and cons, as well as unique characteristics.

TiVo Premier DVR Reviews BUY NOW

The TiVo Premier is definitely one of the most sought after DVR systems because of its overhauled user interface which makes browsing through TV shows and channels all the more fun and convenient. You can record a decent amount of HD video (about 45 hours) and SD video (about 400 hours). An excellent feature of this TiVo is the ability to transfer this video through a computer using another software.

On the downside, many critics say that TiVo Premier might incur additional cable expenses and some say that it would be better off using cable provided DVRs. Apart from the $100 purchase fee for the TiVo Premier, one will also be required to pay TiVo service which may vary depending on the package.

DirecTV Plus DVR Reviews

The DirecTV HD DVR is one of the most reliable and convenient to use DVRs in the market today. The user interface is just similar to that of TiVo but most users agree that a very important feature of DirecTV DVR is its ability to be programmed to record a certain program remotely, i.e. via mobile phone.

The DirecTV DVR is also able to record two programs simultaneously and recording time of about 400 hours for SD and 100 hours for HD and thus has a high ranking spot in our DVR reviews list.

Dish Network DVR Reviews

The Dish Network DVR boasts, among others, its slingbox feature which allows a user to feed separate TV outputs to two different TVs. Just like the DirecTV DVR, it can also be programmed to record shows using the web or mobile phones. This equipment also prides its staggering 1000 hours SD capability, and 140 HD recording hours. The user interface of Dish has also been restructured for better viewing and control.

Without any doubt—DVRs became an instant hit and sooner than we thought, every household started to buy one for their TV sets. In fact, even cable providers are already including these DVRs into their packages. I hope you found our DVR reviews to be informative and I urge you to check out our low prices
